Best Apps For Swinging

Let’s be real, negotiating the world of threesomes isn’t exactly as seamless as you see in movies. Thankfully, threesome apps can be an excellent tool if you’re on the prowl for a ménage à trois.

“Looking for threesomes online is ideal,” says sex coach Tiffany Yelverton, founder of EnticeMe.com and Sexy Survivors. “It gives people more discretion than going to a club and is a good way for newbies to ‘dip their toes in’ if they haven’t tried it before.” Plus, “just the thought of looking and exploring can add spice to a relationship, and simply imagining adding a third person can often be enough for some couples.”

Whether you’re single or paired-up, read on for experts’ favorite threesome apps and tips for making the most of each one. And it goes without saying: Bookmark these babies for after this whole COVID-19 situation clears up. Heck, hopping into bed with a third seems like one heck of a post-pandemic party, if you ask me. In the meantime, fantasize…

Best for threesome newbies: 3rder
You’re in for a good, good time with this app, which allows you to join as either a single individual or as part of a couple. “It’s one of the more popular apps for those looking for a female third-party,” says Brenda Wade, PhD, advisor to Online for Love.

In general, Wade has three key guidelines when it comes to engaging in threesomes:

Set boundaries from the outset. Is kissing okay? Maybe, maybe not! And if you plan on engaging in BDSM, create a safe word.
Stay sober. “It’s totally understandable to want to drink before engaging in a threesome to calm nerves,” says Wade. “But drinking lowers sexual inhibitions and your ability to maintain boundaries.”
Beware of jealousy. “Whether good or bad, having a threesome will teach you about how you handle jealousy,” says Wade. If you’re a jealous person, acknowledge it up front—and see guideline #1.
Best for serious threesome fans: Feeld
This app is one of the best of the bunch if you’re looking for an option that caters exclusively to threesomes. “It works for both singles and couples,” says Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, PhD, professor of relational and sexual communication at California State University, Fullerton. “Simply sign up and state if you’re single looking to enter a threesome or a couple finding a third.” One major perk: “The software is linked with Facebook so you can choose to ‘hide’ from your FB contacts,” she adds. Done.

Best for other sexual adventures: #Open
If you’re, well, open to a broad spectrum of horizontal adventures, this is the site for you. Ideal for pursuing non-monogamous threesomes, polyamory, and BDSM, the app is also great for the LGBTQI+ community. When making your profile, establish some boundaries so potential partners can get a sense of what you truly seek, says Amanda Pasciucco, LMFT, a certified sex therapist based in Connecticut. Try: “We have only Fridays available,” “we don’t text sex partners,” or “we only do threesomes quarterly,” she says.

Best for those who know what they want: 3Somer
Hello, threesome-verse. “This app is 100 percent dedicated to threesomes,” says Jason Lee, a relationship science and data analyst with HealthyFramework.com. “While you’re going to run into a lower volume of people on this app, everyone is looking for the same thing.” And isn’t that the whole point?

Best for casual threesomes and group sex: Get It On
Once you sign up, whether solo or as a couple (the app works well for either), you’ll be asked to choose if you are looking for a threesome or another kind of group sex, says Chris Pleines, the chief dating officer of DatingScout.com in Germany. Note: This app is best for sex of the no-strings-attached variety.

Best for those who hate downloading new apps: Tinder
You may be surprised, but Tinder has become a surprisingly hot spot to scope out threesomes. “Tinder already has that ‘hook up’ reputation,” says Suwinyattichaiporn. If you’re in the market for a threesome, explicitly communicate this desire in your profile. “Open communication, honest self-disclosure, and lighthearted interaction is the best way to initiate a threesome online,” she says. “Your profile should clearly indicate ‘we’re a couple, here to find the right third for a little sensual adventure’ or ‘I’m single, sex-positive, and open to being a third in a threesome.’”

When you’re ready to reach out to someone through your app, reference a threesome straight off the bat, she says. Try: “Hey! I saw the 3some note on your profile, and I’m super intrigued. Would you like to chat more about it?” says Suwinyattichaiporn.

Best for swingers: Swing Lifestyle
This app aspires to make the swingers community more mainstream, and users can check out threesomes and group sex galore on this popular site. “Its large member database gives you higher chances of meeting like-minded individuals,” says Pleines. Also, if the voyeuristic aspect of threesomes turns you on, you may find plenty of arrangements that allow you to simply be a spectator to others getting down.

Best for trying something new: 3way
Suwinyattichaiporn calls this app “up and coming,” noting that it’s recently gained more users, and it’s definitely one to keep on your radar for when the time is right. “You can identify as a couple seeking a third or a single seeking adventure. The app includes all kinds of sexual orientations, so it’s a diverse space to explore,” she says.

Best for casual fun: OKCupid
A non-threesome specific app choice for many, Yelverton likes that OKCupid provides a variety of search options in relationship types. “I believe it is important to be open, transparent, and intentional when creating a profile.”

She continues: “A good way to state your intentions on your profile is to put, ‘I’m open to….’ followed by the specifics you’re looking for, such as men, women, couple, casual, poly, relationship, long-term.” You can also start with “My partner and I are searching for…”

Best for experienced sex-plorers: Passion.com
This is one of the top platforms if you’re looking for sexually focused relationships, like threesomes. “The app isn’t purely focused on threesomes, so you’ll want to note what you’re looking for on your profile,” Lee says. And be direct: “This isn’t the time to be cryptic or wishy-washy about what you’re looking for,” Lee says. “If you take that approach, you’ll be inundated with a ton of requests for things you’re probably not interested in.”

Best for all sorts of fantasies: 99Flavors
Welcome to the sexual playground equivalent of the good old-fashioned ice cream store, where there are seemingly endless choices to satiate every kind of desire. Even though it’s not specifically geared toward threesomes, you should have no problem finding plenty of leads in this realm. “This site is for people looking for sexual adventures, and with over 90 million members worldwide, you’ll surely meet others who are like-minded,” says Pleines.

best app locking apps

The applock is perhaps the most rudimentary of security apps. The way it works is that it will lock up your other apps from prying eyes. That way you don’t have to worry about someone accessing your Facebook, gallery app, or banking app. They work best when paired with a lock screen lock to give you two layers of security. Which ones are worth getting? We’ll help you out with the best applocks and privacy lock apps for Android!

It’s important to note that this is not an end-all-be-all solution for security. It’s good for kids or snoopy friends. However, these provide very little real security for things like stolen phones or even against your more tech savvy friends. It’s an extra security measure and applocks don’t provide enough security to replace existing tools like biometric lock screens.

Apex Launcher
Price: Free / $3.99

Apex Launcher is one of the best android launcher aps
Apex Launcher is an excellent launcher and it just so happens to have an applock function. The launcher features are pretty good and include various customizations, icon pack support, various effects, and you can hide elements like the status bar or the dock if you want them invisible. There are also some app security features as well, including the ability to hide apps from the app drawer and an applock function with a password protect layer for extra security. It’s always a little better if it’s baked into the launcher than from a dedicated app, so if you don’t mind re-doing your home screens, this one and Smart Launcher 5 (listed below) are good alternatives to dedicated applock apps.

Applock by DoMobile Lab
Price: Free

AppLock by DoMobile is one of the best security apps
Applock by DoMobile Lab is definitely one of the best applocks out there. The app can do the basics like locking up specific apps. It can also lock up specific images and videos. It also includes uninstall protection, fingerprint support, and you can even lock stuff like incoming calls, uninstalling apps, and your various system functions like Bluetooth. The app is free to download and use. You can unlock the premium features either by enabling ads or paying for the premium version via a donation. It’s a strong app and one of our favorites.

AppLock by IvyMobile
Price: Free

Ivymobile – best applock apps for android
AppLock is another one of the better applocks on Android. Like you’ll see, it can lock pretty much any app on your phone. It also boasts the ability to lock photos and videos. The app features an invisible pattern lock as well as a random keyboard just in case someone is trying to peep over your shoulder. You’ll also get theming, the ability to replace the icon so you can hide the app, lock frequency, and more. It’ll even take a picture of people who don’t put the password in right. It’s completely free to download and use. That’s another good perk for this one.

AppLocker by BGNmobi
Price: Free / $2.99

AppLocker by BGNmobi is a decent overall app lock app. It does most of the same stuff as other applock apps. That includes locking up apps and giving you various ways to access them. You get fingerprint support as well as pattern unlock and a password unlock. It also comes with some customization options and it can prevent other users from uninstalling apps. It won’t dazzle you with a ton of extra or unnecessary features. It’s just a simple app lock that does its job fairly well and it’s also cheap. You can use this for free if you subscribe to Google Play Pass as well.

Norton App Lock
Price: Free

Norton App Lock best applocks for Android
Norton is a big name when it comes to antivirus apps. As it turns out, they also provide a free app lock app. It uses a four digit PIN, password, or pattern as its lock system. It also supports photos alongside apps. The app also comes with a recommendations list that lets you know which apps should be locked. That’s a great tool for those who want a more hands-off approach. Like most, it also takes a photo of anyone trying to get into your phone. It can be bypassed if the peeker is clever, but it’s still one of the more solid applocks.

Perfect AppLock
Price: Free

Perfect AppLock is another one of the better applocks out there. It features the basics, including support for locking up WiFi, Bluetooth, and other toggles. It’s also rather frustrating to get passed. It throws fake errors and all kinds of other messages out there. That makes people think there’s a different issue other than an applock. The free and paid versions provide the exact same features. The only difference is that the paid version doesn’t have advertising. It’s a solid all around option, even if it’s name kind of oversells its capabilities a little bit

Smart AppLock
Price: Free

Smart Applock is one of the best applocks for android
Smart AppLock is another decent free applock option. It’ll lock up your apps and photos, including your settings, toggles, and phone app (for phone logs) to keep all of those safe. It disguises itself as a lock screen. That way people think they’re back there all over again. Along with that, it provides auto-start upon reboot, break-in alerts, delayed app locking, and it has fingerprint scanner capabilities for Samsung devices. It’s a free option that is supported by advertising. The only downside is that it’s pretty easy to uninstall once someone figures out that it’s there.

Smart Launcher 5
Price: Free / Up to $6.99

Smart Launcher 5 is a newer launcher with some decent security features. The app features launcher stuff like ambient theming, adaptive icons, app sorting, gestures, hotkeys, and more. One of its more niche features is an applock. The launcher hides apps you don’t want other people seeing. Additionally, if they do find them, the apps are then protected with a PIN. We would’ve liked to have seen fingerprint reader support, but it’s a whole launcher with an applock built-in and that’s a bit of a rarity in this space. Thankfully, this rarity is also pretty decent as a launcher and as an app lock.

SpSoft AppLock
Price: Free / $4.99

SpSoft AppLock is one of the best applocks for android
SpSoft AppLock is a decent option for applocks. It features password, pattern, and fingerprint unlocking. That’s good news for those with fingerprint scanners. Like many, it’ll take a selfie of people who try to get into your apps and fail. It also has a bunch of fun little extras. You can make your pattern unlock show up on a grid of up to 18×18 instead of the traditional 3×3. It’ll also show a fake error message instead of a lock if you want it to. The app will even keep your screen on when using certain apps if you want. It’s a good option that also supports over 30 languages.

Ultra AppLock
Price: Free / Up to $7.49

Ultra AppLock screenshot
Ultra AppLock is another decent applock with enough features to work for most folks. You simply open the app, lock the apps you want, and then you need a password to enter them. The app supports fingerprint locks and can send break-in alerts if someone guesses the password wrong. The applock part of this app works fine. However, it also includes some cleaner and battery saver features that absolutely do not work and we recommend you not even touch them. It’s reasonably good and should get the job done for most as long as you stay away from the cleaner features.
