firestick apps listIf you are looking for an uncomplicated way to stream your favorite movies and shows (and more), I say you give Stremio a try. In fact, ever since I started using Stremio, it has become one of my regular streaming tools. Stremio is an online media service, like Kodi, and it is also supported on a wide range of devices. But there are some clear differences.

For starters, Stremio has a much simpler and user-friendly interface. You could get started almost instantly. Additionally, Stremio installs its addons online. Meaning, the addon installation data is not stored locally. This means that when you install an addon on one device, it can be accessed from all your Stremio devices (provided you are signed in with the same account). It also means that the storage space on low-storage devices doesn’t get crammed no matter how many addons you install.

Stremio supports both official and community (unofficial, third-party) addons. You can install any addon with a single click. All the supported addons are also lined up for you when you visit the addons section. You don’t have to look up them manually.

Plex is mostly free and therefore I recommend it as one of the best apps for FireStick.

Tubi updates its database with new content every week. Its range of content includes movies, series, sitcoms, animes, and kids’ shows. As you would expect, the fact that Tubi is free for all to use comes with a downside. Tubi is ridden with ads, which can get a little annoying. You’ll have to sit through a short ad each time you watch something.

Tubi is only available in the US. However, this isn’t a problem, even for people living elsewhere. Thanks to virtual private networks (VPNs), users from all around the world can access location-specific content from almost anywhere in the world.

UK Turks has one of the broadest categorizations I have seen in a video streaming app. Besides the traditional categories available on most streaming platforms, UK Turks also offers special categories for its users, like Concerts, Standup Comedy Specials, Cartoons, Sports TV, Documentaries, and even Radio.

The UK Turks app has a great user interface and delivers a good user experience. All the streamable content on the app is well-labeled, neatly organized, and properly categorized into multiple sub-categories.

  1. Rokkr (Free)
Rokkr serves the same purpose as many best FireStick apps on this list: allowing you to stream movies and TV series. Rokkr is not officially available to download in the Amazon Appstore and therefore requires being sideloaded from a third-party site. But once you get the app, it opens a world of diverse entertainment channels, including channels based in the US.

This app is free to use and does not offer any subscriptions. The app is essentially a browser, giving you access to streams of your favorite movies and shows. To get direct access to the best content, you will need to install a few additional resources.

Rokkr might be great, but it has one downside to it, which is that many of its movies and series are only available in standard definition. This means that you’ll have to settle for watching your favorite TV shows and movies in lower quality than you may be used to.

  1. IMDb TV (Free)
IMDb is owned by Amazon. This media house allows Amazon FireStick users to access IMDb TV for free. IMDb TV gives you access to officially licensed movies and series from many of the top production companies in the US. Some of these big media names are Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Sony, and Warner Bros Studio. Some of the popular titles on IMDb TV are The Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Ally McBeal.

IMDb TV is only available in the US. However, thanks to virtual private networks (VPNs), you don’t have to worry about geographical limitations. With a VPN, you can access geographically restricted content from almost anywhere in the world. This means that even from a country in the Middle East, you could watch IMDb TV on your Amazon FireStick. VPNs allow you to access internet servers in another country, meaning that you can get access to content that is localized to that particular country.

  1. VRV (Free + Paid)
VRV is an interesting application. It does not give you access to every possible genre of movies and series like other FireStick apps do. Instead, it gives you access to specific types of content. Its dominant niches are animes, cartoons, tech shows, and science fiction. While it has content from other genres, the aforementioned ones constitute the bulk of the content available on VRV.

VRV also has a personal watchlist feature. In just the same way that music streaming platforms allow you to create personalized playlists of your favorite songs, VRV lets you make playlists for HD video content. You can curate personalized watchlists on the app according to your taste.

VRV’s major selling point is its enormous repository of anime, making it the perfect FireStick app for anime lovers. VRV makes some gaming content available to you as well. And all of this is available in HD, with the only downside being the presence of ads. If you do not want the ads to appear, you can pay for premium access.

Morphix TV is a clone of the popular app Morph TV. Even though the app is still in the development phase, I decided to include it on this list of best apps for FireStick. That’s because it offers a wide range of movie titles and allows one-click playback. It has a section for TV-Shows. However, it is still offline as I write this.

Update: Morph TV may not pull any streaming links at this time. Please try other FireStick apps on this list.

best apps for firestickEven though the very popular Morpheus TV is all but defunct, its clone Morph TV is rapidly gaining a good reputation among the streamers. You may still install Morpheus TV and use the existing content library, it no longer gets any new updates. On the other hand, Morph TV has the support of an active team of developers. The software upgrades are regular and the media collection is constantly refurnished with new movies and TV shows.

Morph TV has an unsophisticated interface allowing you to get started without having to go through any learning curve. The app scrapes quality streams. However, I miss Real-Debrid support. I hope it is added soon in one of the future software updates.

Exodus is a paid streaming app on FireStick. It gives you access to almost 900 live TV channels from the US, the UK, and many other regions. The best part? Exodus Live TV offers all of these channels in full HD resolution.

Exodus Live TV gives you access to a diverse range of content, like sports, movies, series, music videos, religious channels, documentaries, and kids’ shows. Exodus Live TV makes this possible by having a dedicated team of stream miners who are constantly in search of the best streamable content on the internet.

Exodus Live TV’s operations are perfectly summed up by its description of itself: It is the work of “TV fanatics that search the internet daily for Live TV Streams and share these streams with each other.”

Exodus Live TV stands out from the competition because it enables you to stream HD (720p and 1080p) content without buffering. Any person with a decent internet connection can enjoy Exodus Live TV in high definition.

But all of this comes at a small price. Users who want access to the app’s services must pay a subscription fee. There are three options: a monthly plan, a yearly plan, and a lifetime plan. These cost $5.99, $49.99, and $99.99, respectively.

However, it could have been better by making the channel icons on the main screen a bit smaller.

You can watch all sorts of channels in various categories including Entertainment, Movies, News, Music, Sports, Food, Kids, and documentaries. The app also lets you filter channels by country/region. I wish more channels streamed in HD. Yet, TV Tap is a decent Live TV app for FireStick. Give it a try!

While Players Klub IPTV is primarily a live TV app, it also has a decent on-demand section with dozens of movies and TV shows for your streaming delight. Unlike a lot of free FireStick apps, Players Klub IPTV offers a more reliable and higher quality video playback.

The Players Klub IPTV has an Android app you can install on FireStick. The app is completely remote-compatibility, allowing easy handling and navigation. Local Now is a US-based IPTV service that provides users with free news, movies, TV shows, documentaries, traffic reports, and weather reports. It is owned by The Weather Group. Initially, Local Now focused entirely on local news and weather reports through its partnership with several news channels. However, it has now expanded to offer other content that goes beyond the news.

Like the name implies, you’re not going to find a lot of global news on this platform. The app targets localized content, with a Local Now channel for every zip code in the US.

With its expansion to include movies, shows, and other content, you can now stream from platforms like Lionsgate, Maverick, Sonar, and Gravitas. Thousands of movies and shows can be streamed on the Local Now app. For viewers only interested in the news, there is a handy filter aptly called “NEWS” that aggregates the news sources.

  1. Locast (Free)
Locast is a non-profit service that streams television over the internet for free. If you live in or around the 31 cities where Locast operates, you can gain access to a variety of local TV channels for free without needing an antenna or cable. You could also use a VPN to set your location to a nearby metropolis.

This streaming app requires that you create a free account on its website before you can use it. On the site, you are given an activation code. You can watch directly on the website or you can download the FireStick app. Either way, you get online access to local broadcasts.

As you can imagine, Locast is not the ideal option if you want an IPTV app that lets you watch channels from anywhere. It doesn’t have on-demand content either, instead of focusing entirely on live TV.

The Locast app for FireStick has a simple and efficient user interface. There is a TV Guide that lists all the local channels in your area, as well as program names and details for each channel. You can stream in high quality, and you will find the streams reliable. Locast depends on donations to operate, so expect a short ad about making a donation before you can watch a channel.

Locast is a legal app that can be downloaded on the Amazon Appstore.

Utility Apps for FireStick

  1. Downloader (Free)
For any platform, you must have utility applications pre-installed to do any task. Utility Applications form the soul of a device and Downloader is one such utility application, you must have on your Amazon Firestick.

downloader app for firestickWhether you want to sideload an application or save your favorite music video, you will always need a downloader application to accomplish the task. The other implication is that without a downloader, you would not get enough download speed and might end up wasting lots of time. Due to the poor internet connection at times, your downloading might also get stalled and result in corrupted files.

To prevent this, the downloader app for Fire Stick lets you immediately pause the process and resume it when you are on a good network. This not only helps you to systemize the files you want to download but also prevents them from corruption.

How to Install Downloader app on FireStick

  1. Mouse Toggle (Free)
FireStick and Fire TV devices run on the modified Android operating system. They also use the APK as the executable files, just like the Android mobiles. This makes a lot of people assume that all the app that works on Android mobiles would also work on FireStick. But, that’s not always the case.

best apps for fire tv stickMobiles employ a touch interface, while FireStick has a remote-controlled interface. While there are many Android apps that are both touch and remote-friendly, many are not. Even if you install apps on FireStick that are not remote-friendly, you may not be able to interact with them. As a result, you miss out on some great Android apps.

Thankfully, there is a workaround called Mouse Toggle that lets you use just about any Android app on FireStick. Mouse Toggle app spawns a mouse pointer on your FireStick screen. You can maneuver the mouse pointer with the navigation keys on the remote. However, the mouse pointer can reach those sections of certain apps, which your FireStick remote cannot. This makes Mouse Toggle one of the must-have FireStick apps for your device.

Mouse toggle works on All Fire TV devices including, FireStick Lite, FireStick 4K, and Fire TV Cube.

How to Install Mouse Toggle on FireStick

  1. Browser (Free)
A browser is undoubtedly one of the best FireStick apps. There are various applications that are very useful but cannot be downloaded from the Play store. In such a case, you’ll need to visit their official website if you wish to download it on your device. To access these websites, you’ll need a browser.

The browser serves as a multifunctional application. Some of the best FireStick apps like YouTube and Spotify have online platforms that can be accessed through a browser and a swift internet connection, without downloading or installing them.

The browser saves your time and space by eliminating the requirement of installing third-party applications that you need to sideload on the Amazon Fire TV. Along with applications, you can also view your other favorite websites in HD quality on a bigger and better screen.

To install your favorite browser on Fire Stick, go to the “Search” icon and type the name of your browser such as “Silk.” When the app name appears in search results, open and install it.

Here’s the list of best browsers for FireStick.

  1. Video & TV Cast (Free)
Video & TV Cast has to work in sync with an Android or iOS device, which is the major drawback of this app. You cannot use the app on your FireStick without first downloading the app on a smart Android or iOS device. Besides this little inconvenience, it is a great app overall and provides a lot of utility for movie and TV lovers.

Video & TV Cast comes with a built-in browser that is designed to let you search the internet for movie and TV show streams to watch on their FireStick, Android, or iOS device. Video & TV Cast also offers versatility. Not only can you use the app to search for and watch video streams online, but it also doubles as a media player. You can use Video & TV Cast to watch videos from your Android or iOS device’s gallery and camera roll. Video & TV Cast is one of the free and best FireStick Apps.

  1. Allcast (Free)
Allcast is a utility app that lets you screencast. Installing the app on your mobile device and your FireStick allows you to cast the screen of your Android or iOS phone or tablet to your TV screen. Allcast makes this process swifter and more convenient.
  2. VLC Media Player (Free)
VLC Media Player is a utility app for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and now, FireStick OS. VLC is a very popular app and has been around for a long time, being one of the most reliable video (and audio) players out there.

With VLC, you can watch videos in almost every video file format imaginable. Should you ever encounter a movie or series in an obscure video file format, try to open it with VLC Media Player. Chances are that VLC supports that format and you will be able to view the content in the file.

You can also use VLC to meet your torrenting needs. All you need to do is install a plug-in and you can use VLC to download torrents.

How to Install VLC on FireStick

  1. Zoom (Free + Paid)
Many people have heard about Zoom, a cloud-based meetings and video communications app that became one of the most-downloaded apps in the world at the peak of the pandemic. What you may not know is that this video chatting service is available for use on FireStick and other Fire TV devices.

Zoom lets users carry out a variety of video conferencing tasks online. Zoom users can meet, work, and socialize together when meeting each other physically is not possible. They can conduct online classes, training sessions, webinars, and meetings, and they can stay in contact with friends and family through HD video and audio calls.

You can use Zoom on your FireStick in a couple of ways. If your Fire TV has a front camera, you can hold video calls with the help of a microphone. An alternative and more practical method is screen mirroring, or casting, from your smartphone or your computer to your TV.

Zoom is officially available as Zoom Cloud Meetings in the Amazon Appstore. It has both free and paid plans. The paid plan unlocks a bunch of extra product features. It also removes the limits that come with using the app for free, such as hosting up to only 100 participants on a Zoom call.

How to Install & Use Zoom on FireStick

  1. Wolf Launcher (Free)
For a lot of FireStick users, the native Fire TV does not provide the most eye-catching and elegant design. While the Fire OS is based on a custom version of the Android OS, it does not come close to Android in terms of interface customization. As a result, FireStick users are left with a home screen and background that are bland and boring. Unless they use a custom launcher.

There are several custom launchers available for the FireStick, and Wolf Launcher is one of the best. It allows users to customize virtually all aspects of their home screen. They can organize their apps, creating a home screen that is both visually pleasing and efficient to use. Apps can be resized, grouped into folders, and even concealed for privacy purposes.

In addition, Wolf Launcher removes the sponsored and suggested Amazon apps and banners that come with the default OS. This helps you to declutter the home screen and save data. Wolf Launcher is a third-party app, so it is not available in the official Amazon Appstore.

How to Install Wolf Launcher on FireStick

  1. Aurora Store (Free)
If you are a regular FireStick user, then you may have noticed that unlike Android TV, it lacks the official Google Play Store. Aurora Store is an open-source utility app that provides an alternative to the Google Play Store.

The app doesn’t just resemble the official Play Store app—it allows FireStick and other Fire TV users to download and install Android apps that are present in the Google Play Store. Additionally, Aurora Store mimics other Play Store features, such as the ability to manage installed apps from the store. For example, you can update existing apps with Aurora Store.

The Aurora Store comes in handy because the Amazon Appstore does not have nearly as large of an app collection as the Google Play Store. That means you are restricted in the apps that you can install on your device without sideloading app APKs. Aurora Store fills that gap, providing a massive library of apps to choose from.

Aurora Store has a well-designed and intuitive interface. You don’t need a Google Play account to use the app on your FireStick.

  1. Task Killer (Free)
Sometimes, your FireStick slows down to a sluggish pace that can be quite frustrating. Task Killer is a lightweight utility app that helps to optimize the speed and performance of your device. The app provides a summary of apps that are running in the background and causing the device to be drained of its system resources.

When your FireStick’s RAM is taken up by lots of apps and tasks running in the background, it will slow down and buffer more. Task Killer frees up this space by killing background apps and tasks, thereby providing an instant speed boost to your device. In fact, you can kill apps and free up valuable RAM for your FireStick in a single click.

Task Killer also helps clean the cache of your device and installed apps, as well as clear app data. When you launch the app, it will show you the active apps running in the background and the amount of available memory you currently have. It has an “Ignore” feature that lets you add some apps to a whitelist, preventing them from being auto-killed.

How to Install Task Killer on FireStick

  1. FileLinked (Free)
best firestick appsUpdate: This FireStick app is no longer available. Please try other FireStick apps on this list.

The popular file-sharing app DroidAdmin has been rebranded, repackaged, and is now available as FileLinked. Whether you want to share photos, videos, music, or APKs, FileLinked will do it all for you. This also makes FileLinked an incredibly useful side-loading tool.

While Downloader and ES File Explorer continue to be the most popular side-loading apps on FireStick, FileLinked is making quick progress too. The app makes sideloading a hassle-free process. All you need to do is obtain the file code from the uploader and enter it in FileLinked. The app will do the rest. There is absolutely no need to enter the long URLs anymore.

FileLinked is all the handier for FireStick users since this device doesn’t allow you to download the APK files directly from the browsers. I have noticed that more and more developers these days are offering FileLinked codes for mobile and FireStick apps. Therefore, it only makes sense to have this app on FireStick.

FAQs
What is the best movie app for FireStick?

Many apps on our list of best apps for FireStick offer movie streaming. However, if I were to pick from them, I would say either go for Cinema APK or Typhoon TV. Both these FireStick apps have a big library of movies and they are fetching many quality links. Both support Real Debrid as well, which makes sure you have the premium streaming links.

What is the best Live TV App for FireStick?

On the Live TV front, Live Net TV, Ola TV, and HD Streamz are doing a fine job. These best FireStick apps feature tons of live TV channels for movies, shows, sports, kids, and more. These are free FireStick apps. If you are looking for a paid (yet pocket-friendly) service, you may try Yeah IPTV. This app gives you access to more than 8000 channels for less than $15 a month.

What is the best app for a Jailbroken FireStick?

It depends upon the type of content you want to watch. If you like to stream movies and shows, you would like Cinema HD and Typhoon TV. If it is the live TV you like, we recommend Mobdro, Ola TV, and HD Streamz. However, the one app that should be part of your jailbroken FireStick is ExpressVPN. This app will secure your online streaming by hiding your online identity and making sure your activities cannot be traced back to you.

Is it legal to sideload apps on FireStick?

Yes, it is 100% legal to sideload apps on FireStick. In fact, Amazon gives you the option to enable Apps from Unknown Sources setting to enable sideloading. However, streaming copyrighted content is not legal and it can get you into trouble.

How do I download movies on FireStick?

FireStick Apps like Cinema HD let you download movies and shows onto your device. However, I do not recommend it because FireStick has a low storage capacity. Movies will occupy a lot of space in your storage and cause all sorts of problems including buffering, overheating, and more.

To Conclude
The Amazon FireStick has enormous potential. It won’t be long before we see people abandoning cable and dish and opting for internet streaming. When it comes to enjoying flexibility in what you want to watch, it makes perfect sense.

If you are planning to buy an Amazon FireStick or already have one, the applications listed above can be really helpful in many regards. Eventually, you will get a taste of different kinds of entertainment and figure out which apps are your favorite.

While some applications are free of cost, others will set you back by a few dollars if you’d like to enjoy premium features. The list above is a mix of both and will make your device a complete entertainment source.

Hi Connie. Fire TV Recast pulls down live TV OTA channels from a connected antenna. It grants you access to these channels or acts as a DVR, allowing you to record hundreds of hours of content. Channels that you can watch with Recast include ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, and lots of other local TV channels. You can watch the local news, local sports, documentaries, and much more.

In case it hasn’t been mentioned here yet, users of TeaTV (and maybe a couple of others) need to clear its cache and relaunch it periodically if no/few streams appear. I went a full year without any trouble but yesterday all of my streams disappeared. Had to clear cache and relaunch and working fine again now.

My question is in regards to settings on manage installed apps . Is there a way to set defaults for apps ? I’m not interested in setting an app to start on startup but the ability to be able to stop them from running when Firestick is running .I am aware that I can go to each individual app and do that but I have to do it every time . Do they launch on startup automatically ? Wanted to be able to run as least as possible while streaming to constantly keep smooth streaming.

Hi Tim, not all the apps stay open in the background. But, yes, some of them do. Unfortunately, there is no way to kill them all with a single shot. However, you may try the app called Background Apps and Process List, which will make things easier. This app shows the list of all the apps running in the background. You can download it from the Amazon Store.

For those who are worried about an Amazon Account: I set on up for Belizeans to use! You do not have to have Prime to setup a Firestick unless you want Amazon Prime Video. To keep from getting those annoying messages asking you to buy Prime or add a debit card, you can setup a secondary email account and I even used a debit card that I was canceling so nothing could be charged to me!

Hi Margaret, it depends on the app/addon you are using. Most of them line up multiple streams from various servers. You must choose one of the servers to watch the content. A bunch of them allow one-click streaming. Meaning, the apps/addons pick the best server for you.

Freezing up or not responding to remote usually means that the Firestick is overheating. Unplug the power and wait 30 mlns to let it cool down. Then retry, uninstall unused apps and download CCleaner. Clean up unnecessary junk and it should run smoothly again.

Hi Athelyn, go to FireStick Settings > My Fire TV > About > Storage and check how much storage space is left. If nothing is working, you may need to reset your device. Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Reset to Factory Defaults

After resetting, you may refer to this article to set it up: https://www.firesticktricks.com/how-to-set-up-amazon-fire-tv-stick-for-first-time.html

Pat. Your router is a multifunction device whose main job is to sit as the bridge linking the Internet on one side, and your home network on the other side. On the home network side it will allow connections by cable and by wireless WiFi. A booster probably means making WiFi reach further using a powered device that relays WiFi data. The booster can be connected to your router either by WiFi or by cable. A cable connection will work better, but needs cables! Either way, the booster will need quite a bit of configuring so that it is compatible with your network.

Hi Pat, I am not an expert here, but I think router or Wi-Fi boosters are marketed as Wi-Fi extenders or repeaters. They are used to extend the coverage area of your Wi-Fi.

so it took me three days to figure out i did not need to download “loko” to kodi when i was running kodi with a xanax build because “loki” was already loaded, although it to me was not on the kodi opening screen. i wanted “loki” because it has many 3d movies. my NEW problem is getting streams for the 3d films on “loki”. when i try to get a 3d flick the rectangular box appears, but no streams show up and the attempt aborts by “loki”. i can load non 3d from “loki”, but no 3d streams i do no understand why, because the same movie in 3d is available on “magic dragon” and streams are found there and 3d films load. i will add my d/l speed is slow, but again, dragon does load streams wile “loki” will not.

any idea why this is happening with finding 3d streams on “loki”

i might add that the only changes i recall making, none of which seem to me to be a possible cause, are (1) adding a browser to the firestick apps (2) opening olpair .com and pairing it.

Hi William, I am not sure what’s causing the issue, but uninstalling and reinstalling Kodi might just do the trick.

Also, which addon are you using with Kodi to stream videos? Try one of the working addons from our list: https://www.firesticktricks.com/best-kodi-addons.html

I see no reason why installing a browser or pairing your device at olpair would have any impact on the normal functioning of Kodi.

i am not insane or a believer in spirits, but some curse effects kodi and me. today it would not open, “this app is not assigned to your amazon account” appeared. i reloaded kodi, and when i went to the firestick home kodi did not appear at the end as a new apk, but it was on top an when opened looked normal (no need to configure it from scratch). BUT, almost nothing would load. i did get one tv show to load, but no movie would. it found the streams, but it just “worked” until it gave up, started to load and stopped or after about 30 seconds the message “error, check log for more information”. (not that i was ever to find “log”)
it may well work tomorrow, but while other apks (bee, etc.) work, kodi is a pain, to say the least.

so today, as almost expected, the firestick, add ons, including kodi, appear to be working normally. i see the kodi has more to offer than just t,v, and film, but it will take a while to understand it. i have one question, the answer may be obvious. i note sone streams require one to agree to “pair” our device after visiting their web site. i see how to pair a computer but do not see how to do this with a firestick.

Reply
Patrick says

October 2, 2019 at 19:50

Hi William, you can pair using either the Silk or Firefox browser on your FireStick. You can download these browsers from the Amazon Store.
Also, read our guide: https://www.firesticktricks.com/olpair-openload-tvadme-vidupme-kodi-pair.html

I recommend using a VPN with streaming devices, such as FireStick. However, just in case you are not using a VPN, you can pair your IP address on a computer. If your FireStick is connected to the same Wi-Fi as a computer, it will automatically get paired. That’s because you need to pair the IP address, which is common for all the connected devices (when not connected to VPN)

i do feel foolish asking or commenting about problems perhaps caused by my ignorance of the firestick, but anyway i am again at sea. yesterday i managed to install kodi 19, but while i could get e number of streams up i , save for one time, never got a film to load. i presume once the stream is selected the film should begin without further action, it did not. i did get “error” and i should look elsewhere (forgot exactly where, ? system).

then i went to other apks, (cinema, cat/mouse, etc) and the same basic problem existed everywhere (stream selected, never ending wait almost all the time with no film loaded. i am running ipvanish. i wonder if my isp (fios) is a cause.

this is the third time this has happened, resolving itself the next day. however, i have no checked today to see if it has resolved.

Hi William, I am answering both your comments through this reply. Changing the ISP is not practical. You don’t even need to buy a new FireStick. Getting a VPN is the right way to go. It will hide your streaming attempts from your ISP.

Since this happened with all the non-Amazon apps, I couldn’t put the blame on the server. Apps have different servers. Looks like it was your ISP after all. I am glad that it worked for you after two hours. However, to prevent this from happening in the future, get a VPN

Hi Edmond, some apps are region restricted and may not be available everywhere. You can use the search function on your FireStick home screen and look up for the apps. However, you can bypass the region restrictions by using a VPN

Hi Pat,
We live in Quebec, Canada, and winter in Florida.
Will I be able to watch our Canadian content on the Bell Fibe app in the US on the Fire stick?
I use a vpn (Nordvpn) with a Canadian site for protection.
I tried to use the Bell Fibe app on my iPad (using Canadian site on the vpn) and due to content protection, it did not work.
Love your site!

Hi Andre, yes, you can use the app in the USA, but you will need a VPN. First, connect to a server in Canada through the VPN to use the app in any country you want.

When I try to access any iptv sites, paid or free I get an error message. It makes no difference if I’m using wifi or ethernet (have ethernet adapter)When I go to settings – network it says wired(connected)
or connected. When I check network status it says not connected to your home network–no network connection, but under recommendations it says no issues found with your network connection. Hah? I have 2nd gen firestick. I have tried everything. I can however use cinema apk, a free app
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

Hi Frannie, Cinema HD is one of the best apps for movies and shows these days. Yes, using this app with VPN is recommended. It will unblock any content your ISP might be blocking. VPN will also encrypt and secure your video streaming. It is the safest way to watch your favorite content.

I personally use ExpressVPN and recommend it to my readers. You can know more about it at: https://www.firesticktricks.com/recommends/expressvpn-firetv

Very clear. Easy to follow ,gives the facts and the skinny of sling and fire stick ,not sure I would benefit much. From buying two fire sticks ,wife has a little dementia and I do not have sufficient time to watch tv and justify the cost of the sticks and converting to sling from spectrum .currently pay 153.$ for basic pkg+tel+Internet. Sling would provide way more content than my wife would vue plus my avail time would not justify having access to that much content she only wants to watch CNN local news big bang and food network. Review was great , helped me to understand the concept of the stick and smart tv media access and utilization. Thanks, liked,
