With the new Google Docs app, you can continue to access and update your documents directly from your phone. The app is designed to make it easy for you to navigate between files and move effortlessly between cell phones and tablets. It’s compatible with Microsoft Word, too!
Pinterest has been an essential tool for planning weddings and parties for years, but it’s also perfect for organizing your day-to-day life. While we love using Pinterest on our computers, sometimes it’s easier to access using our phones. Niagara Launcher
Although Samsung has finally made it possible to use third-party icon packs from the Play Store with One UI, this may not be the best launcher for everyone. Niagara Launcher has been around for a few years at this point, but one of the latest updates has introduced true Galaxy Z Fold 3 support. When using Niagara, you are presented with a single list of your apps, making it perfect for one-handed usage even when the big screen is open. The only catch, at the time of this writing, is that you will need to jump on the latest Niagara Launcher Beta in order to enjoy the optimized interface.

Talon for Twitter
While the official Twitter app is fine for many, there are a lot of problems that you might have if you use it on a regular basis. From promoted tweets to an interface that isn’t customizable, there’s a lot missing from Twitter’s app. Talon for Twitter solves many of those issues, as just about every aspect of the app can be customized and tweaked to your liking. We would say that you could argue that the official Reddit client is better than what Twitter has done, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. But unlike Twitter, Reddit doesn’t actually limit the important APIs, which is why we are recommending Infinity for Reddit. When you have a display the size of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, you want an app that can take full advantage of it. Infinity can do just that with its dual-pane layout, that can also be customized and changed around to meet your wants and needs.

Finding the best to-do app is already an annoying task as it is, but Todoist makes it a little bit easier. The app is highly-customizable, and just recently went through a design overhaul. But it still takes full advantage of the larger display on your Galaxy Z Fold 3, giving you access to a sidebar and main area where your to-do lists live. Todoist is largely considered one of the best task management apps, and is well worth the $3 per month for Premium.

Microsoft Outlook
Outlook Best Galaxy Z Fold 3 Apps
There was a long period of time where nobody wanted to touch Outlook with a 10-foot pole. Those days are behind us now, as Microsoft has put a lot of work into making Outlook a great email client. From managing your calendar to handling your inboxes, Outlook is one of the best email apps available. Thanks to Samsung and Microsoft working together on the foldable form-factor, this app also looks great on the Fold 3, along with any of your other Android devices.

Duet Display
From time-to-time, you might find yourself wanting to have just a little bit of extra screen real estate. Whether you’re working from a laptop or at a desktop with a larger monitor, extending your screen can really help you get some work done. With Duet Display, you can install the app on your Fold 3, and turn it into an extra display for your computer. The app can occasionally be a bit finicky to use, but when it works, it’s absolutely wonderful.

Notion
Going back to task management, Notion is like a to-do app on steroids. The interface itself remains the same, but you can create different pages complete with different templates and configurations. If you want to use a KanBan-style task management system, or create a shared budget with a partner, you can do that and so much more with Notion.

Spotify
Spotify Best Galaxy Z Fold 3 Apps
Adding Spotify to the list may seem like a pretty obvious choice, as it’s one of the most popular music streaming services available. But instead of trying to just stretch out the interface we see on slab phones, Spotify on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 offers a sidebar complete with a mini music controller in the bottom left corner. Then, you can browse different playlists, artists, and podcasts from the right side of the screen.

Kindle
Aside from being a productivity machine, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is also an incredible reading device. When reading using the Fold 3, you’ll enjoy a larger display compared to a traditional Kindle, along with being able to actually adjust the hinge to make it feel like you’re reading an actual book. Amazon has also included many great features to customize the look and feel of the Kindle app so you won’t harm your eyes when you get caught up in a book for a few hours (or longer).

- Set up your Fingerprint Scanner
This one is pretty obvious, and chances are that you already set up a fingerprint when you went through the initial setup process. In the event that you didn’t, here’s where you’ll need to go in order to set up the fingerprint scanner.
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap Biometrics and security in the left panel.
Tap Fingerprints on the right panel.
Enter your PIN or passcode, if prompted.
Tap Add fingerprint.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
One big recommendation that we have with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is to set up multiple fingerprints. Sit back and think about the different ways that you use or pick up the Fold 3, and what fingers might be the most convenient to unlock the phone. For example, I have the following options set up:
Right thumb (same for every phone)
Left index finger
Left middle finger
By setting up multiple fingerprint scannings, it’s so much easier to quickly unlock the phone, regardless of how I pick it up.
- Get rid of Bixby and re-claim your Power Button
It’s been years now, and Samsung just can’t seem to find it in itself to ditch Bixby. The voice assistant has been improved over time, but it still doesn’t hold a candle to the likes of Google Assistant or even Amazon Alexa.
By default, Bixby can be activated by long-pressing the side key, but this forces you to go into the notification shade just to activate the power menu. Here’s how to change that:
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap Advanced Features.
Tap Side Key in the left panel.
Under Press and hold, tap Power off menu.
If you want to tinker around with the Side Button settings even more, you can set custom apps to open when the button is double-tapped. Just enable the Double Press toggle, select Open app, tap the Gear icon, and pick your app.
- Customize your Home Screen
Customization is key to Android on the whole, and with two different displays, you’ll want to make sure your Home Screen matches your style and needs. The following steps for customizing your Home Screen applies to both the Cover Screen and Main Display.
Long press on an empty space on your Home Screen.
Tap Settings.
Go through each of the following options:

Folder grid
The only catch here is that you’ll need to close your Z Fold 3, unlock it, and follow the steps if you want to customize the Cover Screen. And obviously, unfolding the Fold 3 and following the steps above will apply to the main display.
How to use custom icon packs on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
- Pin the Taskbar
With a display as big as the Galaxy Z Fold 3, it’s only natural for you to want to easily access your most-used apps from wherever. Technically, this is already possible thanks to Edge Panels, but Samsung has introduced an all-new Taskbar that takes things up a notch.
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap Advanced Features.
Tap Labs.
At the bottom, tap the toggle next to Pin your favorite apps.
Now that it’s been enabled, here’s how you can actually activate and use this taskbar.
Swipe from the left or right to reveal your Edge Panels.
Tap the three lines at the bottom of the panel.
Tap Pin.
Your screen will automatically adjust to make room for the new taskbar. By default, you’ll have quick access to recently-used applications, along with some of your favorites. But if you want to customize the row taskbar full of apps, here’s what you’ll need to do:
Tap the Pin icon at the bottom of the taskbar.
Swipe in on the edge of the display to reveal the Edge Panel.
Tap the three lines at the bottom of the panel.
Tap Edit.
Drag and drop apps from the list onto the panel.
Once completed, press the back button in the navigation bar, or swipe to go back.
Tap the three lines again.
Tap Pin.
- Jump into Good Lock
We’re not going to dive into every little nook and cranny of Good Lock here. However, once you become more familiar with what your Z Fold 3 can do, Good Lock is the next place to go.
Good Lock is the hub for a series of modules that can be installed and used to customize just about every aspect of your Samsung phone. It’s here where the idea of the “Labs” section in the Settings app was born, but it’s continued to grow in popularity and functionality.
