SEO is a mysterious force that controls all online life. But, as I sit here writing this blog in my little apartment in Austin, TX, where I’m sipping coffee and watching the world go by outside my window—I realize that SEO isn’t a mysterious force at all. It’s something we can all understand.
That’s what I want to do with this blog: demystify SEO so you can use it yourself to improve your life and make your business more successful.
What will you find on this blog? I’ll cover all the basics of SEO as well as give some tips and tricks on how to do it yourself. Maybe you’ll even learn some stuff you didn’t know!

You shouldn’t buy Bluehost at all. It’s junk hosting. I would imagine the tools are just as bad.

What SEO tool would you recommend at a reasonable price? I’ve had a blog for a quite a while and I’m looking at increasing its traffic.

Help Request
“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
Hello WP peeps!
My friends and I have a website that we use as a portfolio and we started encountering strange issues.
The website was developed by our friend that seemingly vanished and we’re left to our own devices not knowing how to fix it.
Now – we’re not looking for detailed step-by-step tutorials, we’re just looking for someone to point us in the right direction.
Issues
We had a WP website with the Creedence theme installed. We decided to switch to Elementor in order to expand the website ourselves.
What we discovered is that – every time we try and add anything to the website (e.g. post, page, etc.) WP gives us a critical error “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
We got in touch with support (both Elementor and our hosting service providers).
We use DigitalOcean as our hosting service provider and we don’t have cPanel installed.
We don’t know how to enable WP debugging (it’s really confusing without cPanel, and all tutorials are wildly different from each other). Even if we did, we’re not sure how we would fix the problem.
Questions
Is there a common solution to such a problem?
Again, we’re not asking for free work or step-by-step tutorials, we just need someone to tell us what the next steps would be.
Thanks in advance!

WP_User_Query -> Retrieving birthdays!
I have a query that fetches me users from the DB, and I can customize it (kind of like a sql call)
$todaysDate = date(‘d/m/Y’); // 12/04/2022
$users = (new WP_User_Query([
‘role’ => ‘customer’,
‘meta_key’ => ‘birthday’, // stored as dd/mm/yyyy.
‘meta_value’ => ‘???’, // e.g. user 132 has meta_key=birthday and meta_value=’12/04/1980′, so it would end up a match
‘meta_compare’ => ‘REGEXP’, // aka RLIKE
….
]))->get_results();
I don’t want to fetch ALL users and do my filtering of who’s birthday is today afterwards (too slow by my attempt), I just want to leverage it via this WP_User_Query.
Does anyone happen to know a regex statement I could replace the ??? with that could leverage the dd/mm (e.g. 12/04) portion of $todaysDate (i.e. the first 5 characters)? Perhaps regex isn’t what I need, but something along the lines of a LIKE

Remove Google Analytics Tag?
Hi,
I’m trying to set up Google site kit and Google Analytics, when trying to set it up I am getting an error that an existing tag is on the page.
I installed monsterinsights, however uninstalled it and deleted the plugin as I opted to use Google Site Kit.
I have found the tag in the source code of the website, but I can’t seem to find it in the header or footer anywhere in the code of the website?
Could anyone advise how to remove it?
I can’t find the tag under either header/footer or framework.
https://i.redd.it/8155tcwqoks81.png
How can I find this in the code of the website to remove it?

Freelancing questions
So I have a lot of web design experience, but no proper freelance experience. I’m going to start using WordPress for freelancing but I’m confused by a couple things.
When creating a new site for a client, are you doing that in your own WordPress account by adding a new site, or are you having the client create a WordPress account that you go into to design the site? How does getting WordPress pro play into that?

How to?
Paid Membership Pro
Hi folks
First post in r/Wordpress.
I’m trying to help my sister-in-law sort a small company website she’s been tasked with updating after the previous person whom manages it, left the organisation I understand. I need some Paid Memberships Pro gurus here. The issue is with PMP (v2.7.4), in that there are sections of the website that uses the Paid Memberships Pro plugin. One section works fine, in that if you click on the parent page and then try and access the child content within it, it takes you to a page indicating it is for paid members only. However, another part of the site which looks exactly the same config-wise, simply allows you to access the content unrestricted and so, looks like it isn’t working.
We’ve ticked the box within the settings on the Parent page where we want the access restricting under Require Membership:
Tick boxes within Require Membership within PMP
Any ideas folks on how to restrict this content as I’m stumped!
Thanks

I need some help with WordPress Hooks
Hello,
Let me get straight into the question. I need to add a custom text ( Affiliate disclosure) on all of my WordPress Post. The text should be displayed next to Author Meta in the top part of my post.
Actually, I want this text to either link it to my affiliate disclosure page or a simple css tooltip.
I believe this needs some functions or hooks which I am not well versed with. I have a child theme created and I want to add the php code into my functions.php
Please someone help me with this. Here is the picture of what I want.
Many thanks!
